▌China and Africa Strengthen Legal Ties

▌The China-Africa Prosecutorial Cooperation Forum was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Oct 29, with the theme The Role of Prosecution in the Modernization Process of China and Africa. Chen Wenqing, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an address. Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) of China, and Yuan Gujie, Member of the Standing Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, delivered their speeches respectively. Following the opening ceremony, a plenary session was convened, during which Ying Yong and the heads of the prosecutorial delegations from participating African countries delivered keynote speeches centered on the forum’s theme. Tong Jianming, First Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP, presided over the opening ceremony.

近日，中非检察合作论坛在广东广州举行，主题为“中非现代化进程中的检察担当”。中共中央政治局委员、中央政法委书记陈文清出席开幕式并致辞。中国首席大检察官、最高人民检察院检察长应勇和广东省委常委、政法委书记袁古洁分别致辞。开幕式后举行全体会议，应勇和与会非洲国家检察代表团团长围绕论坛主题分别作主旨发言。最高检常务副检察长童建明主持开幕式。

▌This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The prosecutorial cooperation forum is not only an important measure but also a practical action taken by the procuratorial organs of China and Africa to jointly implement the outcomes of the 2024 Beijing Summit of the FOCAC.

今年是中非合作论坛成立25周年。中非检察合作论坛是中非检察机关共同落实中非合作论坛北京峰会成果的重要举措和务实行动。

▌The delegation heads also signed the Minutes of the China-Africa Prosecutorial Cooperation Forum, agreeing to jointly combat transnational crimes; support each other’s sovereignty, security and development interests; protect China-Africa investment projects; ensure the rights of enterprises and citizens; conduct communication and coordination regularly; and establish a robust exchange and training mechanism, etc.

在充分沟通交流的基础上，各代表团团长共同签署《中非检察合作论坛会议纪要》，就共同依法打击跨国犯罪，支持彼此维护国家主权、安全、发展利益，共同保护中非合作投资项目安全以及企业、公民的合法权益，常态化开展沟通协调，建立健全交流培训机制等，达成重要共识。
