Next 10 years will be the golden decade for BRI: Pakistani expert
The 2023 Understanding China Conference (UCC) is being held in Guangzhou from December 1 to 3.

Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of the Pakistan Senate Defense Committee and Chairman of Pakistan-China Institute, comments that the next 10 years are going to be the golden decade for BRI, as it is keeping up with the times and spearheading globalization. “And that is the need of the hour, based on win-win cooperation,” he added.

The Master Talks on China's Greater Bay Area was held by GDToday and China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS) as a side-event of the 2023 Understanding China Conference in Guangzhou on December 1, aiming to facilitate exchange of global wisdom on the GBA which is an economically dynamic to drive future growth in China.
"This Greater Bay Area, in my view, could be in the next 10 years or so, the turning point for Asia and Asian Pacific, because of its connectivity, its key role," noted Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of the Pakistan Senate Defense Committee and Pakistan-China Institute.
He furthered that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) links tourism, technology, transportation and so on, building a modern 21st century region.

Themed "Multilateralism: More Exchanges, Greater Inclusiveness and Cooperation," the 2023 Imperial Springs International Forum (ISIF) is taking place in Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province, from December 3 to 5.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
"The West's positions seem to be frequently marked by double standards. The application of war or sanctions in the Global South is never clearly justified. Now, China, (which) must be noted, is different. It has adopted a collaborative approach through its Belt and Road Initiative, BRI, which over the 10 years of existence has now established a collaborative framework with 155 countries," said Ismail Serageldin, Former Vice President of World Bank, during the Plenary Discussion held on December 4.
GBA should involve well-known tech figures investing to attract young generation talents worldwide

Martin Jacques, Visiting Professor of Tsinghua University, said that GBA has “miracle firms” such as Huawei and BYD that attracting young generation talents, “GBA has very different culture for the global talents, which could be a barrier as well as attractiveness. GBA also need to involve well-known tech figures investing in the area to attract global talents.”
